What we can help with

From a useful tool
to a complete web product.

Selected collaborations for teams that need a clearer interface, a focused first release, or a better way to get work done.

For everyday operations

Web applications

Internal tools, customer portals, and custom workflows. Build around the tasks people actually need to complete, with clear screens and predictable interactions.

  • Responsive interfaces and navigation
  • Forms, tables, search, and useful empty states
  • Connections to your existing APIs and services

For people who build

Developer tools

Browser utilities and lightweight tools that remove friction from a specific task, from inspecting data to formatting output or validating an input.

  • Clear inputs and actionable error messages
  • Keyboard-friendly interactions
  • Local processing where practical

For ideas worth testing

Product design & iteration

Turn an early idea into something concrete. Define a useful core, shape the key user flows, and improve the product as the real requirements become clearer.

  • Product scoping and interface design
  • Focused prototypes and first releases
  • Improvements to existing experiences

A practical starting point.

Bring one workflow, one audience, or one clearly defined problem. We can discuss what belongs in a first release and what can wait.

Thought in every detail

Software should help you do your thing.
Not get in the way of it.

Seagoing is an independent software studio making digital products for developers and small teams. We care about clear interfaces, considered details, and tools that do a few things really well.

Our own products give us room to explore. We also welcome selected collaborations, bringing that same care to someone else's idea. In both, the goal is the same: something genuinely useful.

Have something in mind?
OUR PHILOSOPHY

Less noise.
More purpose.

How we build

A little less complexity.
A lot more care.

From the first sketch to the details you notice on your hundredth visit. A few things guide everything we make.

Start with the useful.

Understand the problem before adding the features. Build around a real task, not a longer checklist.

Make the details count.

Clear language, accessible interfaces, and sensible defaults. The small decisions shape the whole experience.

Build for the long run.

Choose maintainable foundations over unnecessary complexity. Leave room to improve as real needs evolve.

Working together

A clear process.
Useful at every stage.

A collaboration should make the next decision easier. The exact deliverables depend on the project and are agreed before work begins.

Define the problem
Identify who it's for, what needs to work, and what a successful first release looks like.
What this produces A shared brief and an agreed scope.
Shape the experience
Map the key flows and test the structure before investing in all the details.
What this produces Screen flows and a focused prototype.
Build and review
Develop in small, reviewable pieces. Use a working version to discuss behavior, not just screenshots.
What this produces Working software and clear review points.
Prepare the handover
Review key user flows, responsive layouts, and setup steps. Agree what happens after launch.
What this produces Source files, setup notes, and agreed next steps.

Frequently asked

Good questions.
Straight answers.

What does Seagoing build?

Focused web applications, browser-based utilities, and developer tools. We're interested in software that makes a specific task simpler, whether it's one of our own products or a selected collaboration.

Are the tools really free?

Yes. JSON Desk and Contrast Check are free to use, with no account required. Both run entirely in your browser. We don't upload your input, add analytics, or track how you use them.

Can we work together?

We welcome conversations about thoughtful web products and developer tools. Send a short note to [email protected] with the problem you're solving, your rough scope, and any timing you have in mind.

Do you offer ongoing product support?

For collaborative projects, maintenance and improvements can be discussed as part of the scope. We'd rather set clear expectations together than promise a one-size-fits-all package.

Can we start with a small scope?

Yes. A focused utility, a single workflow, or an early prototype can be a sensible starting point. We can separate the essentials from the later improvements, so the first release has a clear purpose.

Can you improve an existing product?

Share your current setup and the part that isn't working well. We can assess whether targeted interface improvements, a new feature, or a more substantial rebuild would be the more practical approach.

How are cost and timing decided?

Scope, integrations, design needs, and the condition of existing code all affect an estimate. Deliverables, milestones, and assumptions are agreed before work starts. A short project brief helps make that discussion concrete.

What do we receive at handover?

Handover is defined in the agreed scope. It can include source files, setup and deployment notes, and a walkthrough of the delivered features. Hosting, third-party services, and ongoing maintenance are discussed separately so responsibilities are clear.
